This is a tender opportunity for the position of Assistant Manager Nursing (Head of Nursing Services) at Riversdale Hospital in the Garden Route District. The role is a senior leadership position responsible for providing guidance, managing nursing care programs, and ensuring quality patient care. POST: ASSISTANT MANAGER NURSING (HEAD OF NURSING SERVICES) Garden Route District

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum educational qualification: Basic R425 qualification (i.e.
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing with midwifery) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
- Registration with a professional council: Current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with midwifery with the SANC.
- At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognizable experience at management level.
- Inherent requirements of the job: Valid driver’s licence (Code B/EB) and willingness to travel.
- Willingness to deal with after-hours calls.
- Competencies (knowledge/skills): Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, 145 PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet).
- Good communication (written and verbal) skills with ability to manage conflict and knowledge of legislation relative to the Health Care Service and policies of the Department of Health.
- Ability to work effectively and amicably at management level with people of diverse backgrounds and beliefs.
- Good organisational, interpersonal-, creative problem solving- and research skills, as well as the ability to manage own work (and that of the units which report to the post), and to ensure appropriate interventions to enhance all services at the institution..
DUTIES:
- Provide guidance, leadership towards the realization of strategic goals and objectives of the division and monitor the implementation of policies, programmes, regulations, practices, procedures, and standards pertaining to nursing care.
- Provide professional, technical and management support, co-ordinate and monitor quality patient care through proper management of nursing care programs.
- Advocate and ensure the promotion of nursing ethos and professionalism.
- Provide effective support to Nursing -, Administration- and Support services and maintain professional self-development.
- Utilize information technology and other management information systems to manage nursing information for the enhancement of service delivery, human-, financial-, and physical resources.
- Supervisory and mentorship role to the Operational Managers of the hospital..
