This specialized role demands a unique blend of technical expertise, supervisory experience, and physical capability. Before applying, ensure you meet the following criteria:
Mandatory Requirements:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Special Skills: Welding or a Civil-related trade.
- The physical ability to work underwater at depths of approximately 39 meters.
- At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
Advantageous Skills & Knowledge:
- Experience in the marine or diving environment is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of repairing, maintaining, and upgrading harbour facilities.
- Project Management experience.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Knowledge of the Public Service Act, safety regulations, and legal compliance.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a vital member of the team, your duties will include:
- Repairing, maintaining, and upgrading harbors and related facilities, often in an underwater capacity.
- Managing the workload, staff, and procurement of equipment and materials for the Marine/Diving Workshops.
- Supervising, training, and assessing subordinates.
- Administering and compiling necessary documentation for projects and reports.
