Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
- A three-year qualification at NQF Level 6 in Labour Relations, BCOM Law, or LLB.
- No experience is required, making this perfect for graduates.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of: Departmental policies and procedures, Skills Development Act, Labour Relation Act (LRA), Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA), Unemployment Insurance Act (UIA), Unemployment Insurance Contributions Act (UICA), and Employment Equity Act (EEA).
- Key Skills: Facilitation, Planning and Organizing, Computer Literacy, Interpersonal, Problem Solving, Interviewing, Analytical, and Verbal/Written Communication.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
As an Inspector, your role will be crucial in upholding labour laws. Your duties will include:
- Conducting occupational inspections to ensure compliance with all labour legislation.
- Investigating reported cases of contraventions and enforcing the law where necessary.
- Performing proactive (Blitz) inspections to monitor compliance.
- Conducting advocacy campaigns to educate on labour legislation.
- Assisting in drafting inspection plans and reports, and compiling case statistics.
