Who Should Apply? The Requirements.
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- A Grade 12 certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent.
- Advantageous: A Matric certificate with Finance/Accounting subjects, a post-matric qualification in Finance/Accounting, a minimum of one year’s relevant experience, and a valid RSA driver’s license.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to understand, interpret, and correctly apply financial policy.
- Basic Accounting skills and knowledge of contract management and supply chain processes.
- Computer literacy with knowledge of Microsoft Packages and Financial Systems.
- Sound knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and Treasury Regulations is a strong recommendation.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with good interpersonal relations.
- Be a team-player, positive, loyal, creative, trustworthy, and decisive.
Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties
As the successful candidate, your duties will include:
- Timely processing of documents for payment.
- Verification of cash purchase and sundry transactions in accordance with policy.
- Compiling and capturing Journal transactions on the Financial Management System.
- Performing enquiries on the Central Advance System and assisting with the administration of Sub-Advance Accounts.
- Administering payments for local air and bus tickets for the department’s travel agent.
- Answering queries related to Main and Sub-Advance Accounts.
- Assisting with general administrative functions, including archiving and filing.
