Who Should Apply? The Requirements

To be considered for this pivotal role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • A Grade 12 certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent. This is mandatory.
  • A post-matric qualification in a general administration-related field is a strong advantage.
  • Exposure to general administrative or secretarial duties, including managing office assets, stationery, and procurement processes.
  • Exceptional computer literacy, specifically in MS Office packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties

As the Senior Secretary, you will be the backbone of the director’s office. Your duties will be diverse and essential, including:

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial support to the director.
  • Taking accurate minutes during meetings.
  • Typing and preparing agendas, memos, letters, and reports.
  • Managing the director’s diary, correspondence, and filing system.
  • Arranging meetings, travel, accommodation, and transport.
  • Receiving visitors and ensuring the office is tidy and well-maintained.
  • Handling the procurement of office requirements.
