Are You the Ideal Candidate? Key Requirements

To be considered for this senior management role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • An appropriate Bachelor’s degree/Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Education, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A postgraduate qualification in the Post-Schooling Education and Training sector is a strong advantage.
  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience within the Post School Education and Training sector, with 5 years at a middle/senior managerial level.
  • Extensive experience in college/education institution management, strategy, HR, and financial management.
  • Proven skills in strategic planning, report writing, and computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • In-depth knowledge of the TVET sector’s legislative framework and public sector management.
  • A valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel extensively and work irregular hours.

Preference will be given to candidates who promote representativity in terms of race, gender, and disability.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As the Principal and Accounting Officer, you will be the cornerstone of the college’s leadership, responsible for:

  • Driving the implementation of college governance frameworks and systems, including the College Council and Academic Board.
  • Building and leading an effective, high-performing management team.
  • Overseeing all financial and supply chain management systems to ensure compliance and strategic goal achievement.
  • Establishing robust human resource management and stakeholder engagement systems.
  • Leading the development and delivery of responsive curricula and quality assurance programmes.
  • Forging strategic business partnerships for student placements and workplace-based learning.
  • Managing the college’s infrastructure, estate, and student support systems to provide a holistic academic environment.
