Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualification: An NQF level 5 qualification in a Secretarial Diploma or an equivalent qualification. A qualification of a legal nature will be a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years’ proven experience in rendering support services to Senior Management.
  • Knowledge: A solid understanding of:
    • Financial, provisioning, and Human Resource administration procedures.
    • Relevant Public Service and Departmental legislation, prescripts, policies, and procedures.
    • Office Management principles.
    • Document tracking, storage, and retrieval systems.

Essential Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior organising and computer skills.
  • Strong presentation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal relations.
  • The ability to correctly interpret documentation and conduct research.
  • Intermediate typing skills.

Key Performance Areas (Duties)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing comprehensive secretarial and receptionist support to the Deputy Director-General.
  • Delivering efficient clerical and administrative support services.
  • Managing meeting coordination, including logistics, agendas, and minutes.
  • Providing crucial budget administrative support.
  • Staying updated on all relevant prescripts, policies, and procedures to ensure effective support.
