The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies (DCDT) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill a critical senior role: Deputy Director: Audio Visual Media Copyrights and Sustainability.

About the Role
The purpose of this pivotal post is to manage and create an enabling environment, policy framework, and strategic reforms. Your work will ensure equitable access to digital services, promote inclusive digital access, and enable a fair and sustainable future for Audio Visual Media Copyrights in South Africa.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this leadership position, you must meet the following criteria:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in a relevant field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the telecommunication sector.
- At least three (3) years of proven work experience at an Assistant Director level or similar management role.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge in Policy Development and Implementation.
- Expertise in the Broadcasting Industry.
- Strong Programme and Project Management abilities.
- Excellent Stakeholder Management and Communication skills.
- Management of Human Resources.
Your Key Responsibilities
As the Deputy Director, your duties will be diverse and impactful:
- Develop the master plan, governance, and regulatory framework for the audio-visual industry to ensure sustainability and promote media diversity.
- Coordinate mechanisms to govern audio-visual media intellectual property rights, including handling disputes and enforcing licensing agreements.
- Promote sustainable practices and foster entrepreneurship, innovation, and new business models within the industry.
- Mobilise resources and develop funding model policies for the audio-visual media sector.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to raise awareness about copyright laws and public responsibilities.
- Provide oversight to monitor the strategic, operational, and financial performance of entities.
