Education and Experience
- A Degree (NQF 7) in Public Management, Business Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Monitoring and Evaluation, or a Social Science field.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at a middle or senior management level within a strategy and planning environment.
Critical Knowledge Areas
- In-depth understanding of government mandates, priorities, and policies.
- Knowledge of DMPR’s specific policies, functions, and projects.
- Expertise in policy development, strategic planning, and project management.
- Understanding of the National Economic and Development Strategy.
- Proficiency in Financial Management.
Key Skills and Competencies
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent management, organisational, and coordination skills.
- Diplomatic with well-developed interpersonal and negotiation skills.

Mandatory Pre-requisites
- Nyukela Programme: You must have completed the SMS Pre-Entry Programme (Nyukela) offered by the National School of Government. Certificate available here.

Your Key Responsibilities
As the successful candidate, you will be entrusted with the following duties:
- Develop standard operating procedures for strategic management and planning to guide the approval of Strategic Plans (SP), Annual Performance Plans (APP), and Annual Operational Plans (AOP).
- Facilitate the development, approval, and alignment of these key departmental plans with government guidelines and priorities.
- Lead the development of the Department’s Service Delivery Improvement Plan.
- Ensure the Department’s strategic objectives are perfectly aligned with the priorities of State-Owned Enterprises (outputs and outcomes).
- Provide expert guidance and support for the implementation of strategy across the Department.
- Manage the entire Directorate, providing leadership and direction.
