Are you a seasoned financial professional with a passion for the mineral resources sector? The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Analyst to join their dynamic team at the Head Office in Pretoria. This is a prestigious opportunity to play a key role in monitoring and evaluating the financial performance of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) within the sector.
Package and Benefits
The successful candidate will be rewarded with an attractive all-inclusive annual salary package of R896,436.
Requirements
To be considered for this senior role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Degree (NQF 7) in Accounting, Financial Management, Public Management, Public Administration, or Internal Auditing.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a Junior managerial level within an SOE environment.
- Knowledge of basic project finance, economics, public sector policies, and the mineral industry.
- Strong skills in communication, project management, report writing, presentation, and data analysis.
- Note: Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo practical exercises and integrity assessments.
Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and supervising the collection and analysis of data to monitor and report on the accounting practices and financial performance of SOCs in the DMPR group.
- Providing analytical support to specialists for analysing the budget performance of these SOCs.
- Ensuring the effective, efficient, and economical utilisation of resources for accounting analysis and modelling projects.
- Overseeing general managerial activities within the unit.
