About the Role

The Department of Mineral and Petroleum Resources (DMPR) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Director: Bid Management (Acquisition). This is a senior supervisory position based at the Head Office in Pretoria, offering a competitive government salary. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing and coordinating the department’s acquisition and bidding processes, ensuring compliance and efficiency.

Key Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A Degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing Management, Logistics Management, Public Administration, or Public Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience within a Supply Chain Management environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Treasury Regulations, the SCM framework, the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), PPPFA, Preferential Procurement Regulations, and the Logis system.
  • Essential skills include computer literacy, excellent verbal and written communication, financial management, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • The ideal candidate will be a logical, creative, and innovative thinker who is objective, accurate, and diplomatic.
  • Note: Shortlisted candidates will undergo a practical exercise and integrity assessments.

Key Responsibilities

The appointed candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing acquisition management services.
  • Monitoring, compiling, and coordinating bidding processes.
  • Coordinating and verifying consolidated inputs for the Bid Adjudication and Bid Evaluation Committees.
  • Performing managerial activities within the unit.
