The Western Cape Government (WCG) Department of Infrastructure, in partnership with the Construction Education and Training Authority (CETA), is offering an incredible opportunity to gain technical skills and accredited qualifications in the construction sector.
This programme is designed to tackle youth unemployment by providing hands-on training, real-world experience, and a pathway to employment or entrepreneurship.

About the Programme
This structured skills development initiative combines classroom learning with practical, on-site work experience. Delivered through accredited training providers, the programme is your gateway to the construction and built environment sectors. You will gain formal qualifications that are highly sought after by employers, significantly improving your employability.
Available Trades and Specialisations
You can apply for training in the following fields:
- Bricklaying
- Plastering
- Plumbing
- Painting
- Tiling
- Carpentry
- Health and Safety in Construction
- Civil and Building Construction (NQF Level 3)
Who Should Apply? Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be an unemployed South African youth aged between 18 and 35.
- Reside in the Western Cape.
- Have a minimum of Grade 10 (some trades may require a Matric certificate).
- Not be enrolled in any other education or training programme.
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in the construction industry.
Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals, women pursuing non-traditional construction roles, and persons with disabilities.
