Who Should Apply? The Requirements

To be considered for this impactful role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Essential: A Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent qualification).
  • Experience: A minimum of 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Recommendations (Advantageous):
    • A Community Development Learnership Certificate.
    • A valid (Code B or higher) driving licence.

Key Competencies and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Knowledge of relevant public service policies, legislation, and best practices.
  • An understanding of the composition and functioning of communities in the Western Cape.
  • Skills in facilitating public participation in policy making and service delivery.
  • Strong project organisation, interpersonal, report writing, and reporting skills.
  • Proven computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • A proactive approach to self-management and adherence to deadlines.

Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties

In this role, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical tasks, including:

  • Developing and maintaining a comprehensive municipal monitoring tool.
  • Collecting, validating, and evaluating municipal data and information related to performance.
  • Ensuring the development of a database and disseminating information to relevant stakeholders.
  • Drafting the annual municipal performance report in accordance with the Municipal Systems Act.
  • Contributing to the management of human resources and performance within the sub-directorate.
