About the Role
The Western Cape Government’s Mobility Department is seeking two dynamic and experienced individuals to fill the role of Principal Provincial Inspector: Lecturer. This is a pivotal position within the Directorate Traffic Training and Development, focused on shaping the next generation of traffic law enforcement officers. The successful candidates will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and facilitation of high-quality training programs.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
- Must be in possession of a Basic Traffic Diploma.
- A minimum of 6-10 years of relevant experience in traffic training/development or a traffic law enforcement environment.
- A valid code A and EC driving licence.
- Must have no criminal record.
Key Competencies and Knowledge
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of:
- The operational functioning of the Directorate Traffic Training and Development.
- The National Qualifications Framework (NQF) and SAQA.
- Outcome-based education (OBE) principles.
- Relevant legislation including the National Road Traffic Act, Regulations, and the Criminal Procedure Act.
Essential skills include:
- Computer literacy, research, and excellent written/verbal communication.
- Strong training, facilitation, presentation, and coaching abilities.
- Analytical, problem-solving, planning, and people management skills.
Key Performance Areas (Duties)
- Plan and coordinate comprehensive traffic officer training programs.
- Provide valuable inputs to improve existing learning materials, facilitation techniques, and training resources.
- Facilitate training sessions in line with outcome-based education (OBE) principles.
- Conduct assessments of learners to evaluate progress and competency.
- Perform supervisory functions within the training environment.
