The Western Cape Government’s Department of the Premier is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to fill the pivotal role of Director: Transversal Work Organisation Capacity Enablement. Who Should Apply? Essential Requirements
To be considered for this leadership position, you must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Degree (NQF 7) in Social Sciences, Industrial Psychology, Public and Business Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an OD or related environment at a middle management level.
- Recommendation: Extensive experience in process modelling and re-engineering is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of Organization Development strategy and a deep understanding of:
- Relevant national and provincial legislation, policies, and prescripts.
- Public finance, people management, and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- The constitutional and legal framework governing the South African public sector.
Your Key Responsibilities
As the Director, you will be responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational duties, including:
Line & Strategic Management:
- Providing macro transversal and strategic work organisation capacity enablement interventions.
- Driving the directorate’s strategic planning process and developing business plans.
- Ensuring new, innovative design approaches are embedded to improve service delivery.
- Fostering a culture of innovation within the directorate and branch.
Financial Management:
- Managing the directorate’s participation in the budgeting process.
- Assuming direct accountability for the efficient and effective control of the budget and expenditure.
People Management:
- Participating in the recruitment of employees to achieve strategic objectives.
- Motivating, training, and guiding employees to maintain excellence in service delivery.
- Actively managing performance, evaluation, and rewarding of staff.
