The Department of the Premier in the Western Cape Government is seeking two dynamic and skilled professionals to join their team as Organisational Development Practitioners. To be considered for this impactful role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher) in Social Sciences, Humanities, Industrial Psychology, Public Management, or Business Management.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a related field.

Recommendation

  • A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.

Key Competencies and Knowledge

The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of the latest advances in public management and industrial psychology, the statutory framework governing the Public Service, and government policies. A strong understanding of organisation development theory, systems theory, project management, and research methods is crucial.

Critical Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), research, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
  • Proven ability in project management, facilitation, and innovative problem-solving.
  • Ability to function as a self-managing employee and a strong team player within multi-functional teams.
  • Capable of multitasking and performing under pressure in a rapidly changing environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As an Organisational Development Practitioner, your duties will be central to improving organisational performance. You will:

  • Provide Organisation Development services by executing and implementing Organisational Design and OD interventions.
  • Facilitate group problem-solving, capacity building, and other OD techniques.
  • Work on key areas including Job Evaluation, business process redesign, and change management.
  • Contribute to macro and transversal organisation design services.
  • Document and report on all OD interventions and contribute to mandatory service delivery initiatives.
  • Help optimise and maintain OD methodologies, tools, and techniques for the Directorate.
