This senior management service (SMS) position is designed for an accomplished professional. To be considered, you must meet the following criteria:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 7) as recognised by SAQA.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience at a senior managerial level.
- Successful completion of the Certificate for entry into the Senior Management Service (SMS).
- A valid driver’s licence.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge of public policy analysis, strategy development, modern governance systems, public finance, and people management. Essential skills include strong leadership, conceptual formulation, team building, and exceptional communication abilities.
Your Mission: Key Responsibilities
As the Chief Director, you will be at the helm of several crucial functions, including:
- Institutional Management & Governance (IMG): Develop policy and guidelines for school management, governance, and capacity building for School Governing Bodies (SGBs) and Representative Councils of Learners (RCLs).
- Specialised Education: Plan and coordinate support services for inclusive education, manage resources for ELSEN schools, and develop policies for special education.
- Early Childhood Development (ECD): Develop provincial norms and standards for ECD centres, formulate and monitor implementation frameworks, and manage conditional grants.
- Programme Coordination: Oversee the National School Nutrition Programme (NSNP), HIV operations, and manage ministerial and public complaints.
