- Position: Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Oncology)
- Centre: Groote Schuur Hospital, Observatory, Cape Town

Remuneration Package:
The position offers a competitive government salary:
- Grade 1: R451,533 per annum (PN-B1)
- Grade 2: R553,545 per annum (PN-B2)
Are You the Right Candidate? Key Requirements:
To be considered for this specialized role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: A basic R425 qualification (Degree/Diploma in nursing) allowing registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- Specialty Qualification: A mandatory post-basic qualification (at least 1 year) accredited with SANC in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Oncology Nursing: General.
- Registration: Current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
- Experience:
- Grade 1: Minimum of 4 years of recognisable experience in nursing after SANC registration.
- Grade 2: Minimum of 14 years of recognisable experience, with at least 10 of those years specifically in the Oncology specialty after obtaining the post-basic qualification.
- Inherent Requirements: Willingness to work shifts, after-hours, weekends, public holidays, and night duty. Must be able to rotate to other departments within the oncology unit and perform physical tasks like lifting patients and standing for long periods.
- Skills: Sound knowledge of nursing legislation, problem-solving, report writing, and basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).
Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a valued member of the oncology team, your duties will include:
- Delivering optimal, holistic, and specialized nursing care to oncology patients within a professional and legal framework.
- Maintaining constructive working relationships with nursing staff and other stakeholders.
- Efficiently utilising human, material, and physical resources.
- Participating in research, training, and community outreach programs for optimal patient care and rehabilitation.
- Assisting with administrative duties, including data collation and reporting.
