Remuneration Package:
The position offers a competitive government salary:
- Grade 1: R451 533 (PN-B1) per annum
- Grade 2: R553 545 (PN-B2) per annum
Who Should Apply? Essential Requirements
To be considered for this specialized role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Qualifications & Registration:
- A basic R425 qualification (Degree/Diploma in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
- A post-basic nursing qualification, accredited with SANC, in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care (with a duration of at least 1 year).
- Current registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Required Experience:
- For Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years of recognizable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing.
- For Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years of recognizable experience in nursing after registration, with at least 10 years of that experience being in Medical and Surgical Nursing Science: Critical Care.
Inherent Job Requirements & Competencies:
- Willingness to work shifts, after-hours, weekends, public holidays, and night duty.
- Willingness to rotate to other wards within the rehabilitation centre.
- Sound knowledge of nursing-related acts, legislation, and policies.
- Strong problem-solving, report writing, and facilitation skills.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office package).
- Ability to lift and turn patients and function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Your Key Responsibilities (Duties):
The successful candidate will be entrusted with the following critical duties:
- Provide effective and efficient holistic clinical management of the spinal rehabilitation ward.
- Support the delivery of a specialized and effective rehabilitation service to patients.
- Commit to ongoing professional growth and self-development.
- Participate in the training and development of nursing staff to ensure optimal patient care.
- Utilize financial and people management principles within the ward environment.
