Location: Swellendam Hospital, Overberg District
Remuneration: R308,154 per annum

Are you an organized and experienced professional with a background in support services management? Swellendam Hospital, within the beautiful Overberg District, is seeking a dedicated Administrative Officer to oversee and manage its critical support functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth operational delivery of healthcare support services.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this pivotal role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Experience: Appropriate working experience within support services, including fleet management, contract management, and proven supervisory experience.
- Inherent Job Requirements:
- A valid Code B/EB driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel and perform duties across the Swellendam and Cape Agulhas Sub-districts.
- Willingness to be on standby and work overtime, including after hours, weekends, and public holidays.
- Competencies and Skills:
- Computer literacy (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and email).
- Knowledge of HR, Supply Chain, Fleet Management, Waste Management, Maintenance policies, and Service Level Agreements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- The ability to manage and supervise multiple teams and work effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be entrusted with a diverse range of duties, including:
- Administering and managing contracts with service providers (Security, Cleaning, Gardening, Pest Control, Waste Management, Telecoms).
- Overseeing the maintenance department, workshop teams, and infrastructure.
- Managing the fleet, transport services, and drivers.
- Administering food service units, laundries, and housekeeping departments.
- Supervising staff, including performance management, disciplinary processes, training, and roster planning.
- Providing support to management and colleagues, including standby duties and budget monitoring for support services.
