The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Assistant Manager: Monitoring & Evaluation for the African Renaissance Fund (ARF). Position Details

  • Post: Assistant Manager: Monitoring & Evaluation: ARF
  • Salary: R582,444 per annum (Level 10)
  • Centre: Pretoria

Requirements

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Qualifications: An NQF level 6/7 qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Strategic Management, Auditing, or a related field. Auditing experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, auditing, or strategic management, with at least three years at a supervisory level.
  • Competencies & Knowledge: A comprehensive understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service, Treasury and DPME regulations, M&E systems, the PFMA, and the National Development Plan is crucial. Key skills include:
    • Policy analysis and development
    • Strategic planning and report writing
    • Financial management and risk management
    • People management and excellent communication skills
    • Problem-solving, negotiation, and networking

Key Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical functions, including:

  • Facilitating the ARF annual audit process.
  • Monitoring and evaluating projects and conducting annual impact assessments.
  • Preparing comprehensive quarterly and annual reports.
  • Monitoring financial arrangements as per project agreements and contracts.
  • Assisting with the development of strategic and annual performance plans.
  • Conducting financial and compliance monitoring of projects.
  • Monitoring the implementation of risk management policies and MOUs.
  • Assisting in the development of frameworks and policies.
