REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate three-year National Diploma/Degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or Marketing.
- Experience: Appropriate experience in a communication, public relations or media environment, which include building and managing client and stakeholder relationships; developing visual communication products; media, reputation and response management; internal communication and brand management; and developing and executing communication campaigns.

- Willing to occasionally work outside regular office hours and to travel for work.

DUTIES:
- Communication management, including developing and executing an annual communication plan, managing the hospital’s brand, photography, and proactive storytelling to manage the hospital’s image and reputation.
- Stakeholder management, including working with the Groote Schuur Hospital Board and Trust, and the hospital management team to support the annual operational plan.
- Reputation management and media liaison, including handling media queries, writing media releases, media monitoring, risk management, and event management.
- Develop and test communication and promotional material, including reports, newsflashes, newsletters, position statements, and social media posts.
