Key Requirements

To be considered for this prestigious role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • An appropriate Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in Public Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience in Project Management and managing resources.
  • At least three (3) to five (5) years’ proven work experience at an Assistant Director level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Public Service and NSF mandates, the education system, and relevant legislation including the Skills Development Act, PFMA, and Treasury Regulations.
  • Exceptional skills in strategic leadership, communication, people management, and project management.
  • A valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities

As the Deputy Director, your role will be multifaceted and crucial to the NSF’s mission. Your duties will include:

  • Managing the entire bursaries initiation and evaluation process.
  • Developing and implementing marketing and sourcing strategies for the Outreach Programme.
  • Creating a monitoring and evaluation framework to assess the impact of NSF-funded bursaries.
  • Overseeing stakeholder agreements with bursary agencies and community partners.
  • Reviewing impact assessments and facilitating lessons learned from programme outcomes.
  • Managing the directorate’s resources, including budget monitoring and human resources.
  • Leading and empowering a team of employees, managing their performance in line with PMDS policies.
