This is a senior management vacancy for a Deputy Director of Interpreting Services at the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development’s National Office in Pretoria. The role involves coordinating and managing all court interpreting services, implementing policies, and managing human and financial resources. The successful candidate will receive an all-inclusive remuneration package of R849,702 to R1,000,908 per annum and must sign a performance agreement.Applicants must possess an appropriate NQF Level 6 qualification or degree in Legal Interpreting, Language Practice, Linguistics, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of management-level experience in a court interpreting environment is mandatory, along with extensive knowledge of public service legislation, financial management, and various branches of law. REQUIREMENTS:

  • An appropriate qualification (NQF level 6)/ Degree as recognized by SAQA in Legal Interpreting & Translation/ Language Practice/ BA in Language/ Journalist or Linguistics;
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Court Interpreting environment at management (Assistant Director) level;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework governing the Public Service, Financial Management and regulatory framework/guidelines, Public Service Act, Public Service Regulations, Treasury Regulations, Departmental Financial Instructions, Public Finance Management Act; Knowledge of Criminal, Civil and Family law cases, Constitutional law cases, Court Operations.
