Who Should Apply? The Key Requirements
To be considered for this senior role, you will need to meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Senior Certificate (Grade 12) plus an undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in Finance, Financial Management, Management Accounting, or Public Management. The qualification must be recognized by SAQA.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Financial Management and Municipal Finances at a supervisory or management level (ASD).
- Technical Skills: High proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Financial Management, Municipal Revenue Management, the Division of Revenue Act (DoRA), and the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Driver’s Licence: A valid driver’s licence and a willingness to undertake extensive travel are essential.

Your Key Responsibilities
As the Deputy Director, your duties will be critical to the department’s financial operations. You will be responsible for:
- Supporting public hospitals in developing and implementing initiatives to enhance revenue collection.
- Monitoring and reporting on the credibility of hospital credit controls and debt collection policies.
- Overseeing the payment of inter-governmental debt to hospitals, providing support to districts, and facilitating stakeholder relationships to resolve disputes.
- Managing the coordination and development of comprehensive hospital debt collection and financial recovery plans, including debts owed to entities like the RAF (Road Accident Fund).
