A pivotal leadership opportunity has arisen within the public sector for a strategic thinker passionate about digital inclusion and postal services. The Department of Communications and Digital Technologies is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the permanent role of Deputy Director: SOE Postal.

Salary: R1,059,105 per annum (Level 12, all-inclusive package)

The core purpose of this role is to manage and create an enabling environment, policy framework, and strategic reforms. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring equitable access to digital services and promoting an inclusive State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) postal sector.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this senior position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF level 6) in Engineering Technology, Public Policy, or a relevant field.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the telecommunications sector.
- At least three (3) years of proven work experience at an Assistant Director level or similar management capacity.
- Advanced skills in:
- Policy Development and Implementation
- Operational and Financial Management
- Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Risk Management and Data Analysis
- Regulatory and Compliance Knowledge
Key Responsibilities
The Deputy Director will be tasked with a diverse and critical set of duties, including:
- Managing the implementation of strategic plans and policies for postal services.
- Driving the development of policies to create an enabling environment for postal services, including overseeing SEIAS processes.
- Contributing to research on Postal Financial Services to support technological innovation and digital transformation.
- Collaborating with government agencies, private sector partners, and service providers to address challenges and promote innovation.
- Managing partnerships to accelerate the delivery of current and future postal service requirements.
- Overseeing project management, financial resources, and ensuring operational excellence and compliance.
