Who Should Apply? The Requirements
To be considered for this prestigious position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Grade 12 certificate.
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6/7) such as a Diploma or Degree in Law, Policing, Forensic Investigations, Auditing, Criminology, or an equivalent relevant field as recognized by SAQA.
- Registration with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) will be a distinct advantage.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience at an entry-level management position (e.g., Assistant Director).
- In-depth knowledge of forensic investigations and key legislation, including:
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act
- Protected Disclosure Act
- And other relevant anti-corruption laws.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong policy analysis and implementation skills.
- Computer literacy and a valid driver’s license.

Your Key Responsibilities: What You Will Do
As the Deputy Director, you will be at the forefront of the department’s anti-corruption efforts. Your duties will include:
- Managing the detection, intervention, and reporting of corrupt activities within the Department and the broader human settlements sector.
- Coordinating the analysis of fraud and corruption trends and reporting on findings with actionable recommendations.
- Leading investigations into allegations of unethical conduct, fraud, corruption, and maladministration.
- Providing crucial support and assistance to law enforcement agencies on human settlements-related cases.
- Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance investigative outcomes.
- Offering support to Provinces, Metros, and human settlements entities with their own investigative cases.
- Managing the resources (human and financial) of the Sub-Directorate effectively.
