Who Should Apply? The Ideal Candidate Profile
This senior management role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership acumen.
Minimum Requirements:
- A National Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Information (NQF Level 6).
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in software development (e.g., document management, BI & data warehouse, system integration) and experience in a junior management role.
- In-depth knowledge of relational database management systems, the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), and BI/data warehouse environments.
- Proven skills in strategic planning, budget management, project management, and policy development.
- Technical proficiency in programming languages such as C#, ASP.Net, Magic 9.4, or XPA.
- Knowledge of ESRI GIS, Magic Software, Enterprise Architecture (e.g., TOGAF), and government IT policies will be a significant advantage.
Key Competencies:
The successful candidate will be a logical, creative, and objective thinker with excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. A strong service delivery orientation and the ability to manage change effectively are crucial.

Your Key Responsibilities
As the Deputy Director, your duties will be critical to the department’s technological advancement:
- Leadership: Oversee and manage the activities of the Sub-directorate, providing strong leadership and organizational direction.
- Strategy & Policy: Develop, maintain, and implement policies and strategies for business systems, processes, and information systems.
- Innovation: Champion the use of technology as a key enabler for improved service delivery and organizational transformation.
- Management: Take overall responsibility for the management and performance of the Directorate.
