Who Should Apply? Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Compulsory Registration: Current registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician.
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven experience in a Constructive/Mechanical engineering field.
- Proficiency in compiling and presenting technical reports in English.
- Strong ability in original, creative design work.
- Demonstrated skills in MS Office, CAD/Caddie, and other design software.
- Essential design and implementation knowledge.
- Planning, organising, and problem-solving skills in an engineering environment.
- Ability to read, understand, and draft Engineering drawings.
Knowledge of ship structures, Class/IMO rules, writing specifications, and legal compliance will be a significant advantage.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As an Engineering Technician, your duties will include:
- Executing system and subsystem advice and defects analysis services.
- Developing integrated concepts and detailed designs.
- Executing acceptance and trials services for engineering projects.
- Managing projects and tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
