The position offers a competitive, grade-dependent salary package:
- Grade 1: R949,146 per annum
- Grade 2: R1,082,988 per annum
- Grade 3: R1,253,415 per annum
Who Should Apply? Key Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding role, you must meet the following criteria:
Minimum Qualifications & Registration:
- An appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professional Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Officer.
- Current registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Officer.
Experience Requirements by Grade:
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration with the HPCSA for SA-qualified employees. Foreign-qualified applicants require 1 year of relevant experience.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 5 years of experience for SA-qualified employees, or 6 years for foreign-qualified employees.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 10 years of experience for SA-qualified employees, or 11 years for foreign-qualified employees.
Inherent Job Requirements & Competencies:
- Willingness to participate in the after-hours call system.
- Proven experience in the principles of planning, organizing, and implementation.
- Strong knowledge of public health policies and guidelines.
- Competence and willingness to work across disciplines if required.
Your Key Responsibilities (Duties)
As a Medical Officer in Paediatrics, your duties will be critical to the hospital’s mission:
- Deliver an efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality clinical service with a patient-centered focus.
- Help address the burden of disease within the community.
- Maintain high-quality clinical records to ensure compliance with standards.
- Manage financial and other resources effectively and efficiently.
- Adhere to all HR matters and the Department’s Code of Conduct.
