Who Should Apply? The Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A Grade 12 certificate (NQF 4) or equivalent. This is the minimum requirement.
- Advantageous qualifications: A Matric certificate with Finance/Accounting subjects, a post-matric qualification in Finance/Accounting, a minimum of one year’s relevant experience, and a valid RSA/Military driver’s license will be strong advantages.
- Essential Skills: Basic communication, analytical, innovative, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office is essential.
- Key Knowledge: Knowledge of the Departmental Financial Management System (FMS), report writing systems (IC), Departmental Accounting, Standard Chart of Accounts, Conventional Service Writing, and staff work is crucial. Knowledge of other financial systems and Supply Chain Management is also important.
Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties
As an Accounting Clerk, your role will be vital to the financial operations of the SANDF. Your duties will include:
- Providing budget management services for the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).
- Assisting in developing the Annual Performance Plan financial management guidelines.
- Providing expenditure and revenue budget control services.
- Executing administrative functions on the Financial Management System (FMS) for budget control.
- Monitoring budget control aspects and providing policy advice.
- Generating, reproducing, and distributing financial reports for clients.
- Performing routine administrative duties, including taking minutes, record-keeping, and filing financial documentation for audits.
- Administering allocated resources and complying with all Occupational Health and Safety standards.
