Who Should Apply? The Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following criteria:
Essential Qualifications:
- A Grade 12 Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification.
Recommendations (Advantageous):
- Relevant experience in an asset management, storeroom, or inventory management environment.
Other Requirements:
- A valid Code B (or higher) driving licence.
- Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities but have reasonable access to transport are encouraged to apply.
Key Competencies and Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of:
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA)
- Supply Chain Management Prescripts
- Financial Accounting principles
- The Asset Management framework
- Relevant asset management systems
And skills in:
- Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Written and verbal communication
- Client and goal orientation
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Your Key Responsibilities: The Duties
In this role, you will be entrusted with a variety of critical tasks to ensure efficient asset management, including:
- Assisting with the asset disposal process.
- Barcoding of government assets for accurate tracking.
- Performing physical verification of assets.
- Attending to and processing asset movements.
- Updating and maintaining the official asset register.
- Arranging meetings and providing administrative support.
- Providing support to the line function for Customer Care.
