The Western Cape Government’s Department of Infrastructure is seeking a highly skilled professional to join their team in a pivotal role focused on municipal human settlement planning.

- Salary: Grade A: R721,476 – R774,267 per annum (OSD as prescribed)

Are You the Ideal Candidate?
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- An appropriate B-Degree in Urban/Town and Regional Planning or an equivalent qualification.
- Compulsory registration with the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN) as a Professional Town and Regional Planner on appointment.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification Town and Regional Planning experience.
- A valid Code B (or equivalent) driving licence.
Key Competencies and Skills:
- Knowledge of: Relevant legislation (e.g., SPLUMA), Contract Administration, Programme and Project Management, Policy formulation, Financial Management, and Research methodologies.
- Skills in: Interpreting and applying policies, strategic problem-solving, sound budgeting, facilitation, and presentation.
Your Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will be at the forefront of planning and development in the region. Your duties will include:
- Influencing forward planning through the Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and various sectoral plans.
- Rendering crucial technical support for project planning within the district area.
- Undertaking transversal planning for the region to ensure cohesive development.
- Management of staff, providing leadership and guidance to your team.
