Are You the Ideal Candidate?

Requirements:

To be considered for this pivotal role, you will need:

  • An appropriate 3-year tertiary qualification (National Diploma/B-Degree or higher).
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a web development environment.
  • Recommendation: A valid (code B or higher) driving license. (Note: People with disabilities that restrict driving abilities, but who have reasonable access to transport, are also encouraged to apply.)

Key Competencies and Knowledge:

The successful candidate will possess a strong command of:

  • Drupal 10: Deep understanding of its architecture, core modules, themes, and configuration management.
  • PHP: Strong programming skills, including object-oriented programming and frameworks.
  • Front-End Fundamentals: Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Databases & Servers: Database design principles, SQL, and understanding of web servers like Apache/Nginx.
  • DevOps & APIs: Understanding of deployment processes (e.g., Composer) and API integration.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication (written and verbal) skills.

Your Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be entrusted with a diverse set of duties critical to the digital infrastructure of the province:

  • Open-Source Development: Building and maintaining robust web applications using Drupal and other technologies.
  • Systems Analysis: Working with stakeholders to understand needs and develop technical specifications.
  • Infrastructure Maintenance: Ensuring the stability and performance of web systems.
  • Quality Control: Implementing best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Client Collaboration: Engaging with internal clients to deliver solutions that meet their requirements.
  • Project Management: Participating in governance processes to ensure projects are delivered on time.
  • Technical Support: Providing expert troubleshooting and support for existing systems.
