Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Specialist skills and experience in the Electrical field.
The ideal candidate will also possess:
- Expert knowledge of advanced tools and machinery of higher complexity.
- Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and dossiers.
- Proven skills in planning, coordination, and supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills (verbal and written English).
- Competency in technical report writing, financial management, and mentoring.
- Knowledge of legal compliance and computer-aided technical applications.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be responsible for:
- Performing complex electrical maintenance and repair tasks on naval equipment and infrastructure.
- Interpreting technical drawings and work dossiers to execute precise jobs.
- Using, managing, and ordering miscellaneous stores and parts.
- Providing expert technical advice and support.
- Supervising, training, and coaching subordinates and trainees.
- Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to all safety protocols.

Important Notes for Applicants
- Applications must be submitted on the prescribed Z83 form (obtainable from any Public Service Department or the DPSA website). Applications on the incorrect form will be disqualified.
- The Z83 form must be accompanied by a detailed CV. Certified copies of qualifications (not older than six months) are only required from shortlisted candidates.
- Applications received after the closing date, or faxed copies, will NOT be considered.
- Applicants must submit a separate Z83 form and CV for each post they apply for.
- The successful candidate will be subjected to Personnel Suitability Checks (criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset record, qualification, and employment verification) and a security clearance process.
- Appointment will be on a probationary period of twelve (12) months.
