Who Should Apply? The Key Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following mandatory requirements:
- A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Current Compulsory Registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician. (This is a statutory requirement).
Desired Skills and Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong skillset, including:
- Electronic technician experience (a distinct advantage).
- Proficiency in spoken and written English and technical report writing.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and use computer-aided technical applications.
- Knowledge of electronic maintenance, repair procedures, test equipment, and calibration standards.
- Skills in project management, decision-making, problem-solving, and analysis.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Safety Act and safe operating procedures.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a successful candidate, your duties will include:
- Executing maintenance and repair tasks on electronic systems and equipment according to strict timeframes and laid-down standards.
- Interpreting Technical Drawings and Work Dossiers.
- Conducting testing of electronic systems and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of equipment failures, spare parts orders, and service history.
- Ensuring full compliance with all safety regulations.
