- Post: Professional Nurse Grade 1 to 3 (General Nursing) – Childrens’ Ward
- Centre: Oudtshoorn Hospital, Oudtshoorn and Kannaland Sub-district

Remuneration: Competitive Government Salary Scales
The position offers a competitive government salary, commensurate with your experience and grade:
- Grade 1: R307 247 per annum
- Grade 2: R375 480 per annum
- Grade 3: R451 530 per annum
Are You the Right Candidate? Key Requirements
To be considered for this rewarding role, you must meet the following criteria:
- Qualification: A basic R425 qualification (diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
- Registration: Current registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
- Experience:
- Grade 1: No experience required after registration.
- Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years of recognizable experience after registration.
- Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years of recognizable experience after registration.
- Inherent Requirements: Must be willing to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night duty. Willingness to rotate to other departments is essential.
- Key Competencies: Basic computer skills in MS Word, the ability to function independently under pressure, knowledge of nursing practices and infection control, and excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Your Key Responsibilities
As a Professional Nurse in the Children’s Ward, your duties will include:
- Providing direction and supervision for the implementation of nursing care plans.
- Implementing standards and practices to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Practicing in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintaining constructive working relationships with nursing colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Utilizing human, material, and physical resources efficiently and effectively.

- It is expected that candidates will be available for selection interviews on the date determined by the Department.
