About the Role
This pivotal role sits within the heart of the hospital’s operations, ensuring that critical supplies are managed efficiently and effectively. You will be responsible for overseeing inventory control, warehouse management, and providing essential support to end-users, all within a dynamic and fulfilling healthcare environment.
Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A Senior Certificate with Mathematics or Accounting as a passed subject. Alternatively, a Senior Certificate coupled with relevant experience and competencies.
- Experience: Appropriate experience in inventory management, procurement processes, and the LOGIS system within a hospital environment is essential.
- Inherent Requirement: A willingness to work overtime when required to meet the hospital’s needs.
- Key Competencies:
- Extensive knowledge of inventory and warehouse management procedures.
- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Strong supervisory skills and the ability to manage warehouse staff.
- Knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), Treasury Regulations, and departmental delegations.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and conflict management abilities.
Key Performance Areas
Your duties will be varied and critical to the hospital’s smooth operation, including:
- Managing inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Performing vital LOGIS system controller functions.
- Ensuring the store is compliant with all relevant standards (ESL).
- Maintaining audit-compliant documentation.
- Assisting with financial reporting related to inventory.
- Supporting end-users with Supply Chain Management queries and processes.
- Managing all people management functions within the component.
