Key Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Previous experience as an Artisan in a marine environment and as a Joiner is a distinct advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (written and verbal).
- Technical report writing skills and basic knowledge of Health and Safety protocols.
- Must be physically fit to perform Joiner duties.
- Additional valued skills include problem-solving, decision-making, computer-aided technical applications, financial management, and mentoring.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Executing all duties in compliance with the Code of Conduct, Quality Assurance Manual, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHASA).
- Performing maintenance and repair tasks according to laid-down standards and procedures.
- Implementing appropriate repair solutions within the time frames specified on allocated job cards.
- Working effectively both as part of a team and individually.
- Assisting with the training of newly appointed Shipwrights and the introduction of new equipment.

Important Notes for Applicants
- Applications must be submitted on the prescribed Z83 form (obtainable from any Public Service Department or the DPSA website). Applications on the incorrect form will be disqualified.
- The Z83 form must be accompanied by a detailed CV. Certified copies of qualifications (not older than six months) are only required from shortlisted candidates.

- Applicants must submit a separate Z83 form and CV for each post they apply for.
- The successful candidate will be subjected to Personnel Suitability Checks (criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset checks, qualification and employment verification) and security clearance processes.
