About the Role
The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dynamic and creative Digital Media Specialist to join their Head Office team in Pretoria. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled media professional to administer the department’s electronic media platforms, generate engaging content, and help shape its digital presence.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the following criteria:
Education:
- A three-year National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) in one of the following fields:
- Media Production
- Graphic Design
- Marketing / Digital Marketing
- Communication Science
- Web Development
Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of functional experience in media production, social media management, or digital content creation.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of: Departmental programmes and legislation, protocols for Electronic Media (Social media & website), video shooting/editing, website and social media management, various social media platforms and tools, and live streaming technologies.
- Proficiency in: Video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro).
- Excellent photography and photo editing skills.
- Graphic design skills (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Client service, administrative, interpersonal, planning, organising, and negotiation skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Administering the Department’s Electronic Media platforms, including its Website, Intranet, Social Media, and Exchange Postmaster.
- Implementing and monitoring standards, norms, and protocols for all Electronic Media content.
- Generating creative and engaging content for the department’s social media accounts.
