Who Should Apply? Essential Requirements:
To be considered for this pivotal role, you must meet the following criteria:
- An appropriate Trade Test Certificate.
- A minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience as an Artisan.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Experience in Electrical Weapons Systems will be a significant advantage.
Key Skills and Competencies:
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
- Strong technical analysis and report writing abilities.
- Proficiency in computer-aided technical applications.
- Sound knowledge of Legal Compliance, particularly the OHAS Act.
- Proven planning, organising, conflict management, and teamwork skills.
- A strong focus on customer service and responsiveness.
Your Key Responsibilities:
As an Artisan Foreman, your duties will be critical to the operational readiness of the Navy. You will be responsible for:
- Maintaining and repairing SUT Torpedoes.
- Preparing both exercise and combat torpedoes for issue and storage.
- Maintaining torpedo Counter Measure launchers.
- Conducting purging and pressure checks on EXOCET missile tubes.
- Performing functional tests on UMKHONTO Missiles and purging pure air systems.
- Ensuring section security and full compliance with the OHAS Act.
