About the Opportunity
The South African Navy’s Fleet Command Headquarters is seeking two qualified and experienced Engineering Technicians to join their Naval Engineering Services division in the picturesque and historic town of Simon’s Town. This is a critical role focused on providing logistics support analysis and planning for SAN systems, offering a unique chance to contribute to national maritime operations.
Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Qualifications: A National Diploma in Engineering or a relevant qualification.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-qualification technical experience.
- Registration: Current Compulsory Registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineering Technician (This is a statutory requirement).
- License: A valid driver’s license.
- Special Skills:
- Proven experience in a maintenance engineering field.
- Ability to compile and present technical reports in English.
- Knowledge of computer-aided engineering applications and proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and documents.
- Knowledge of Class and IMO rules and regulations (advantageous).
- Strong planning, organising, problem-solving, reasoning, and mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of Legal Compliance, Project Management, and Research & Development.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Participating in Logistic Support Analysis and Logistic Plans development service.
- Participating in Logistic support design, specification, and verification.
- Participating in the development of Logistic support baselines for SAN systems.
