The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to fill the position of Client Services Officer at the Mdantsane Labour Centre. Position Details

  • Salary: R397,116 per annum
  • Centre: Labour Centre: Mdantsane, Eastern Cape

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A three-year relevant qualification at NQF Level 6 in Social Science (e.g., Psychology, Industrial Psychology), Public Administration, Business Management, or Public Management.
  • A valid driver’s licence.
  • Two (2) years of functional experience in a client-oriented environment.

Required Knowledge:

Knowledge of the Employment Service Act, Unemployment Insurance Act, Public Service Act, Immigration Act, Skills Development Act, Social Plan Guidelines, Human Resources Management, Public Financial Management Act (PFMA), and relevant ILO conventions related to Public Employment Services (PES).

Essential Skills:

Planning and Organizing, Communication, Computer Literacy, Analytical, Presentation, Interpersonal, Report Writing, Networking, Negotiation, and Marketing skills.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Marketing PES Services to stakeholders to acquire opportunities and conducting the recruitment, selection, referral, and placement of registered work seekers.
  • Processing requests for International Cross-Border Labour Migration and advising on the availability of skills.
  • Processing applications for the registration of Public Employment Agencies (PEA) and Temporary Employment Schemes (TES).
  • Supervising the provision of registration and referral services for work seekers.
  • Monitoring the implementation of employment schemes, Labour Activation Programmes (LAP) projects, and Temporary Relief Schemes.
  • Supervising the administration of employer services at the labour centre.
